Portland — Hello all you moviegoers,

Just wanted to let you moms and dads know what a disaster of a movie my 14 year old daughter and I almost watched last night. After she asked me to take her to this movie, I reluctantly agreed. I'm glad it was ME that took her, and not a male companion!

The first scene was much as to be expected: a return to Crystal Lake, with the requisite teenagers. But, these teens, if they are of TODAY? I shudder to think they are, and I am glad that my daughter isn't like them!

The second scene is what I so strongly objected to, and indeed, left the theater because of:

Four of the kids left the group in twos to have sex in their tent. Yes, I know it's an R rated movie. But, come ON! This is geared towards teens, after all! The second two kids were undressed, and NOTHING was left to the imagination! Nothing. It was NOT a romantic scene, it was hot, steamy, and naked. Period.

They should have rated this X, if you know what I'm talking about! We were totally embarrassed! I know that a lot of kids of 14 are already having sex, but my daughter is not one of them, and I would like her to stay innocent as long as possible.

I would also object to the sorry excuse for a theater that we visited, in Windham, Maine. It was so cold that I could see my breath, and I suppose they weren't planning on increasing the heat, as a theater employee came in to check the thermostat shortly after the movie started, presumably to see if anyone had surreptitiously increased the dial, as he only shined a flashlight on it and did not turn it up.

The popcorn was stale, partially burned, and cold, not to mention incredibly expensive, but we all know how expensive concessions are, right? But $13. for a large popcorn and two drinks? It wouldn't have been so bad if it was fresh. Thankfully, we only paid about $12. for our tickets, as Tuesday is discount night there.

If you want some entertainment for your kids this vacation week, I suggest ice skating or skiing! At least you know you'll get your money worth, and won't be exposing your children to onscreen sex!
