Portland I sent the following email to both Maine Republican Senators in hopes they would stop the insanity of this ridiculous stimulus package. I am including the addresses for the Senator’s emails. Just click on the link and send them a quick note NOT to vote for the stimulus package and forward this to as many of your friends, family and acquaintances who would help stop this madness;
Senator Olympia Snowe’s email address….

Dear Senator Collins,
I strongly believe that tax cuts will boost our economy. I also believe that the stimulus package that piles on more government spending at a time that our government is running such huge deficits will merely prolong the recession and burden Americans for decades.
The rebuilding of our infrastructure should be done with the tax on fuel, tolls and any other money that has been earmarked for those projects through referendums but then was thrown into general funding and spent on other things.
Giving money to states for their projects is another mistake. If states don’t have to be fiscally responsible and make their own finances work because they will be constantly bailed out by the federal government then they will never get their spending in order. Cuts need to be made and the public sector must get spending under control.
Taking money from some and redistributing it to others under the guise of stimulating the economy is contrary to what America was built on. We need to allow the economy to adjust through normal market means. Capitalism will work every time because success and failure should be measures of work, supply and demand and nature. When government intervenes by micro-managing money and the unfettered spending of taxpayer money, all that happens is political pay back (ACORN) and pandering to individuals. Please vote against this boondoggle of a bailout plan and encourage your fellow Republicans to also.
Thank you,
Sam Minervino

Sorry , Sam, but your opportunity to vote has come and gone (Nov. election). E-mailing the Senators representing Maine will only slow them down in their very busy lives, so go ahead and ask them for help; after all, they have both done so much for us already. Idiot. Look at their voting records if you want to have a clue what they think of working class Americans. Get the picture, yet. I didn't think you would; it's probably genetic with you. I would think someone with an alternative lifestyle would love the idea of alternative energy, guess not.

I can't agree with you more. I have contacted both Senators about this several times. I does not take anything more than First Grade Math to figure out that you can not keep spending more money than you have. Maybe Washington should go back to first grade.
