In an article dated November 12th, 2008 titled “Blind Faith of the Fervent Left”, I wrote of the religious fervor prevalent in Obama supporters;

“Barack Obama has supplanted God in the lives of so many who have had religion systematically removed or were never exposed to it in the first place.”

On November 17th, Howard Kurtz published an article in the Washington Post titled, “A Giddy Sense of Boosterism”. In it, he speaks of the same fanatical fervor;

“Are journalists fostering the notion that Obama is invincible, the leader of what the New York Times dubbed "Generation O"?

Each writer, each publication, seems to reach for more eye-popping superlatives. "OBAMAISM -- It's a Kind of Religion," says New York magazine.”

I, in no sense, am comparing myself to a cerebral titan like Howard Kurtz. What I am saying is my point is valid and not a stretch of the imagination. The type of fanaticism that is alive and well and is a pervasive state of mind in the liberal masses should be feared. It is impossible for members of the press to unbiasedly report on Obama because they will not and cannot see anything wrong with anything he does;

“Here we are," writes Salon's Rebecca Traister, "oohing and aahing over what they'll be wearing, and what they'll be eating, what kind of dog they'll be getting, what bedrooms they'll be living in, and what schools they'll be attending. It feels better than good to sniff and snurfle through the Obamas' tastes and habits….

What sort of informed opinion about a man and his policies can possibly be made by an electorate that is force fed nothing but adoration?

“As those who would criticize the religious right for the blind faith it shows to an unseen God, those same people now display that same fervor to Barack Obama…. anyone who may argue against him is shouted down as a bigot, racist, blasphemer. The followers of Barack Obama are giddy with excitement about the infallibility of their new leader. They are counting down the days until the messiah is crowned king of the left and a new day dawns on His America. But Howard Kurtz has a warning for the adoring throngs of Obama supporters;

“Obama's days of walking on water won't last indefinitely. His chroniclers will need a new story line. And sometime after Jan. 20, they will wade back into reality.”

And as I have said all along; a rocketed rise to power almost always leads to an even faster meteoric fall from grace.
