Drilling for more Oil is a lost battle
Contributed by Bob Fiske myMaineToday.com 2008-06-12

Portland — I watched the testimony on 'Oil Supply and Demand' today, as conservatives insisted that we solve our US Oil supply challenges by drilling in the restricted areas offshore and in wilderness lands, and Democrats kept chasing this 'Speculator' demon.

How I wish one person could have asked them if they recalled that US Oil Production Peaked in 1973, and even with the addition of Alaska, has been heading downhill ever since.

Sure, we will do some more drilling, but the flowrates possible from any American oilfields will be akin to chasing the last nickels out of the Couch cushions. Deepwater drilling off the Outer-continental Shelf will be like squeezing applejuice by hand.

None of them dares to tell us that there's a chance that they can't guarantee our energy supplies anymore. People have to start taking care of their own energy needs, cause the cavalry is on a third deployment in Iraq, and the congress is too busy beating each other up to find real energy solutions for we, the people.

In my neck of the woods they are contaminating billions of gallons of water with petroleum in order to extract enough natural gas to run a space heater to keep you warm while you die of petroleum poisoning. I vote that we give them all nicotine gum soaked in bile duct toxins so that their stupidity will live forever. (Ps. 78:22)

Hasta luego, adios ye scurvy dogs with your petrol-calcified bodies! Don't forget that organ failure is a sign that your demise is at hand. My distinguished adviser, Len says that the brain is the first to go! Not to worry, you haven't used yours in years! You could always get a free fool shot. I hear that it's painless. They administer it right between the eyes. Or you could take it by mouth. Whatever the case, keep your powder dry!

Your repeating wrong information and it doesn't make it any truer the more it's said.

I will repeat;
It is apparent that when McCain tried to reform the system he was met with opposition from the democrats who received huge contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. You are right P, as the truth comes out about McCain's record, the more people will see who represents them and their concerns the most, and it isn't Obama.
